  The Fuji Mountain Race is known to be one of the most challenging climbing race in Japan. With almost 70 years of history, this popular race attracts runners from all regions. Participants compete on Mt. Fuji, the highest mountain peak in Japan at 3,776 m. There are two races, the 21km Summit Course with 2,500 runners and the 15km 5^th station course with 1,300 runners. Both races start at the Fujiyoshida City Hall. The Summit Course cut off time is strictly 2 hours and 15 minutes at the point of the 5th station, and if not qualified, runners must stop running and forfeit their running bib and timing chip. After finishing the race, visit the temples, enjoy local specialties or relax in a hot spring nearby while taking in the beautiful view of Mt. Fuji.
