Nara has sustained prosperity as the last terminal of the Silk Road in 7th century and has been attracting tourists worldwide as the “International Cultural City of Tourism” because of its cultural properties and great views
Nara Marathon was founded in 2010 and holds a 3km and 10km race besides a full marathon. With a time limit of 6 hours, 16,000 participants run this ever popular race.
The beautiful scenery and unforgettable hospitality of the volunteer staff helps you get through the challenging undulating course.
The popular participant T-shirt and finisher’s medal are specially designed incorporating Nara’s symbol, the “deer” as a motif.
More than 1,400 wild deer roam Nara Park and if you are lucky you may be able to receive encouragement from the herd around the 10km point!
