The Kaifugawa Furu Marathon is held in the town of Kaiyo in the Tokushima Prefecture. It takes about 5 hours from Osaka to the Awa Kainan Station, and a shuttle bus service is available to the venue where you start and finish. This full marathon has 2,000 participants and a cut off time of 6 hours. Enjoy the lush nature scene along the course including the 36km long Kaifu River, one of the clearest rivers in Japan. Numerous personal aid stations on the roadside will standby for your safety. The heartfelt warm cheer and music played by the local bands will make this race enjoyable and memorable.

The volunteers show their hospitality by offering Japanese udon noodles and spiny lobster miso soup. The post-race goodie bag is full of local specialties.

After the race, you can either relax by the ocean side in Tokushima or take a trip to Osaka, Kyoto or Tokyo by train or flight to experience the urban side of Japan.
