Nikko is in Tochigi prefecture and one of the World Heritage Sites in Japan.
Originally, Nikko was opened by Shodo Shonin, who tried to climb the third time in March 782, and he finally succeeded. This year has been the 1250th year since the historical moment and this tournament has taken over his spirit.

You will start the race at Nikko Toshogu Shrine on a silent morning with the sound of temple's bell as a starting sign.

The Kirifuri Kogen Plateau, which is part of the course, is the best viewing platform and you can celebrate the beautiful scenery of the autumn leaves in November. The view of the former Kirifuri ranch is also wonderful, where you can overlook Mt. Nyohosan and Nikko Town. Kirifuri Kogen is also known for the stairs called "heavenly corridor" and it could be the high-lite of this course.

In the final stage, you will head to two shrines of World Heritage; Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Mt. Futarasan Shrine, and Rinnoji Temple. These will definitely make you excited and encourage you to finish the goal.

Enjoy not only these historical heritages but also the landscapes, Lakes, waterfalls, hot springs in Nikko National Park after the race!
