Her record time was 1:04:52, and her 10, 15, and 20km split times were also (pending ratification) new world records.
23 year old Kenyan, Joyciline Jepkosgei was scouted in early 2016 by the Ikaika Sports staff and joined the RunCzech Racing Team and the adidas Marathon Athlete Developed Project. In just a little over 10 monthes, she went from an unknown athlete to a world champion. She made her international deut at the 2016 Mattoni Karlovy Vary Half Marathon last May, setting an event record as well as a personal best of 1:09:07. Her impressive growth in such a short span of time has left us all in awe.
As Joyciline says herself, "Struggle every day. And one day you will be a winner." We are all excited to see what's in store for her in the future. Congratulations to Joyciline and the RunCzech Racing Team for a glorious win!
