R-bies, INC was established in 1975 and has since been the leading pioneer of the Japanese running industry. Japan’s oldest and largest running magazine “RUNNERS” was published in 1976, and "RUNNET," R-bies’s race entry platform launched in 1997. “RUNNET” currently boasts over 2 million users and handles over 2,000 events a year. R-bies, INC. also owns timing company, RECS, who times over 500 races a year (over 2 million chip times yearly) including Japan’s largest marathon, Tokyo Marathon. R-bies, INC. has dramatically made an impact to the running industry in Japan and is now sharing its knowledge and expertise to the rest of the world.

AIMS is a member based organization and since being established in 1982 has grown to a membership of more than 410 of the world’s leading distance races, from over 110 countries and territories. AIMS Members come from every continent on the planet.
The three key objectives of AIMS are:
- To foster and promote distance running throughout the world
- To work with the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) on all matters relating to international road races.
- To exchange information, knowledge and expertise among members of the association
