  This year's sixth edition CAF Caracas Marathon was held on Sunday March 26, 2017 starting off in Los Caobos Park of Venezuela. José David Cardona of Colombia accomplished his third consecutive win of the 42km division, with his time of 2:23:23. Andrés Ruiz, also from Colombia, came in second with a time of 2:24:47, while Alexis Peña took third place with a time of 2:24:47.
  
  11,281 participants registered for this year's race, tripling the number from it's first edition of 3,500 in 2011. 40% of the runners have registered the 42km, and 60% will run the 21km. For the first time ever, over 1,000 females have registered in the 42 km division, bringing attention and attracting more runners for next year's edition.
